The Smallholder Agribusiness Resilience Project (SARP) is a community resilience project that prioritizes agribusiness while equally emphasizing other sectors aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The cornerstone of SARP lies in its Social Inclusion and Institutional Development component, serving as the foundation for maximum project impact. Social inclusion ensures representation and diversity, fostering equitable policies across the six districts it operates in, serving Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Malays without discrimination. SARP targets marginalized groups, including the differently-abled, widows, and the poorest of the poor, promoting economic growth and social cohesion. Through the establishment of Community Development Forums, SARP encourages innovation, creativity, and long-term resilience, aligning its activities with the SDGs. Ultimately, SARP’s commitment to social inclusion and institutional development signifies a pivotal step towards creating a just, equitable, and sustainable society for all communities on the island.
