The rehabilitation work of two tanks in the Kurunegala district under the Smallholder Agribusiness and Resilience Project (SARP), which operates under the Ministry of Agriculture and Plantation Industries, commenced on February 17 under the leadership of Project Director Mr. Gayan Mallawatissa. The rehabilitation works of the Divulegama and Nochchiyagama tanks, in the Giribawa DSD, Aliawatuna Wewa Village, have begun. The primary objective of this program is to provide relief to farmers facing difficulties in carrying out farming activities due to water scarcity.
Additionally, the stocking of fingerlngs was conducted in Nikaeva, which is in the Moragollagama village. Calf, tilapia, and rohu fish fingers were deposited, aiming to boost the income of local fishermen and address the protein needs of the local residents.
