The project values environmental services and invests in sustainable agriculture to preserve andrestore natural resources while increasing the resilience of farming systems to a changing climate. Cascade water resource development measures attempts to build climate resilience in the agriculture production benefiting the rural community. Participatory natural resource management planning process identifies interventions needed for soil, water and biodiversity conservation. Improving land management and farming systems can help alleviate pressure on the environment and lower environmental consequences. The project works with partners to scale up successful approaches for sustainable agricultural production and green value chains to build climate resilience by managing land-use systems while reducing poverty, enhancing biodiversity, increasing yields and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
