Successful Smallholder Agribusiness Partnership Development Symposium Hosted by SARP

The Smallholder Agribusiness Partnership Development Symposium, hosted by the Smallholder Agribusiness and Resilience Project, took place successfully on the 16th of July 2024 at the Sanhinda hall of the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA). The event was graced by the presence of Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industry, who attended as the chief guest. Among the distinguished guests were Mohan Priyadarshana de Silva, State Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industry, Janaka Dharmakeerthi, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Plantation Industry, and Mrs. Sherina Tabassum, the Country Director for Sri Lanka and Maldives in the Asia Pacific Division of IFAD.
Mrs. Renuka Rathnayake, Director of Development at the Ministry of Agriculture and Plantation Industry, also took part in the event, which saw the active participation of over 60 companies engaged in agricultural businesses. The symposium was deemed a great success, with the program overseen by Mr. Gayan Mallawatissa, the Project Director of SARP. The event featured talks by post-harvest management specialist Mr. Chanaka Gajanayake and agro-enterprise specialist Mr. Upul Nandana, with the Project Management Unit playing a key role in organizing the event.- write a topic for above
