Food security and poverty reduction are key tasks of the Smallholder Agribusiness and Resilience Project (SARP). One of the significant challenges faced by the local community is the preparation of high-nutrition food at low cost. To address this issue, SARP initiated a nutrition program aimed at raising awareness within the community.
On September 3, 2024, a successful Nutrition Awareness Program was held at the Kottukachchiya Community Hall, specifically designed for pregnant mothers, mothers with children under five years, and newly married couples from Kottukachchya Colony 1 in the Puttalam district. The event brought together these families to learn about nutrition and its importance in their daily lives.
Through interactive sessions and informative discussions, participants gained valuable insights into preparing nutritious meals that are affordable and accessible. The program not only educated but also empowered the community to make healthier choices for themselves and their families, thereby advancing SARP’s mission of promoting food security and reducing poverty.
