On October 28th and 29th, 2024, at Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) hosted a workshop organized by the Smallholder Agribusiness and Resilience Project (SARP). The two-day event, titled “Mastering Procurement Procedures and Navigating the OPEN (Online Procurement End-to-End) System,” aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of public procurement processes.
The first day focused on mastering procurement procedures, covering key concepts, best practices for bid evaluation, and contract management. Participants engaged in discussions about legal and ethical considerations, as well as practical challenges in the procurement landscape.
On the second day, attendees received hands-on training with the OPEN system, learning to create purchase requests and orders, manage contracts, and monitor supplier compliance. The workshop also included sessions on contract lifecycle management and generating procurement reports.
The event concluded with feedback and evaluation sessions, allowing participants to share their insights and experiences. This initiative underscores SARP’s commitment to building capacity in the procurement sector, ensuring effective resource management in Sri Lanka.
