This project has been implemented focusing on the districts of Vavuniya, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura, Mannar, and Matale. Under this initiative, 17 rice demonstration plots have been established.

For cultivation in these plots, rice varieties with high adaptability to climatic variations have been used, including BG 374, BG 366, BG 409, BG 310, BG 369, and AT 362. This initiative aims to introduce farmers to improved and high-yielding rice varieties best suited for these regions, ensuring maximum productivity.

A total of LKR 0.6 million has been allocated for purchasing seeds under this project.
